Professor Tony Gauvin

eBusiness Concentration for Business Majors

Marketing Statement: Today’s businesses are technologically adept and today’s business manager requires an greater understanding of how technology interfaces in the day to day operations of a modern business. The eBusiness concentration in Business management provides students with a holistic look at how technology can be used effectively in business. (Compare to MIS concentrations but with more of an Internet slant)

Target Student: Student that it is interested in Business Management and wished to understand how to use technology effectively. The student does not want to be a technologist but wants to understands applicability and usefulness of the technology..

Here is the curriculum for the new proposed eBusiness concentration. I simply replaced a few of the General Management courses with courses that are more eBusiness specific and added two basic (survey type) computer courses. There is an additional 3 hours more than the original BS in Business Management. This should appeal to students who like eCommerce but do not want a highly technical perspective.
